Tuition Payment Policy

Tuition Overview 

Prior to every season the TRHC Executive Board analyzes the Club’s expenses and costs, then sets tuition amounts for each age level. These tuition amounts have been established by the TRHC Executive Board to ensure the organization covers all the costs associated with successfully operating a travel hockey club for the entire length of the season. These tuition amounts are clearly defined in the TRHC Contract that is signed when accepting a roster spot on one of our travel hockey teams during tryouts. Examples of expenses and costs associated with operating the organization include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • League Fees, Practice and Game Ice, Referee and Tournament Fees, Skills and Goaltending Clinics and Instructors, Practice Jerseys, Game Socks, Evaluations, Equipment, Bank Charges, Credit Card Fees, Coaching Staff/Manager Discounts, and Administrative Costs and Expenses.

 

As an association with a non-profit status, we need to ensure we fully cover all the costs of the program and reduce any risk associated with non-payment and/or delinquent payment of tuition fees, as that can have a very negative effect on the Club. 


This TRHC Tuition Payment Policy and the related team assignment process for the upcoming travel hockey season is outlined below. Payments will be clearly documented on the TRHC Contract that you sign with the club and are scheduled on specific dates to ease the tuition burden on our members. Tuition is required to be paid in full according to the tuition payment schedule outlined in your TRHC Contract and detailed in this document. Players with outstanding balances will not be allowed to participate in any TRHC practices, games, or activities until their account is made current. Outstanding Tuition Balances

NO player will be permitted to participate in any TRHC on or off ice activities for the current travel hockey season unless all tuition and/or fees from any and all previous seasons have been paid in full.  There will be NO EXCEPTIONS made to this policy. 

 

Tryouts/Evaluations

All players MUST pay a non-refundable tryout fee to the TRHC before or at the first tryout date for all age levels.

 


Player Placement Notification

Players will be notified of their team placement and assigned Head Coach for the upcoming season after the tryout process has been completed. 

All players in good standing who attend tryouts will be placed on a team for the current travel hockey season according to the tryout process. 

Any player NOT in good standing who owes any tuition and/or fees from any previous season will NOT be placed on any AA or A level team according to the tryout process.  Players NOT considered in good standing will instead be allowed to sign a contract for the second, or lower level team but will be REQUIRED to pay off their previous season’s balance before they will be permitted to participate in any TRHC on or off ice activities for the current travel hockey season (see Outstanding Tuition Balances above).     

 

Tuition Payment Schedule

* A 4.00 percent Credit Card Convenience Fee (minimum $2.00) will be assessed on all payments made by Credit Card.

** If a player is not current by the FINAL payment date, that player is considered NOT in good standing and restrictions will be placed upon that player (see No Pay / No Play below).

Please note that there will be a $25 charge for a returned check or a rejected credit card payment.

Registration with USA Hockey is required for all players to participate in our travel hockey program. Visit www.usahockeyregistration.com and click on the register now link.  The nonrefundable cost to register with USA Hockey is approximately $56.00 (children under 6 are free).

 

No Pay / No Play 

In the event that any player has NOT paid their tuition by the tuition payment due date(s) listed in the contract, that player will NOT be allowed to participate in any on or off ice TRHC activities until such time as the outstanding tuition payment has been made in full.    
 

Jersey Policy

All TRHC players are required to have TRHC approved jerseys and socks for the current travel hockey season to be worn for all games.  TRHC uniform fittings will take place at Winding River Skating Center during tryouts. Shortly after tryouts are completed, TRHC game jerseys, socks and uniform items will be made available to order via our website.  Same will be announced via an email detailing the online ordering process. In the event that any player loses, misplaces, or damages their jersey or gear, a new one must be purchased at the expense of the player/parent.

 

Multi-Player/Family Discounts

Families in the Club with more than one (1) TRHC player in our program are entitled to the following Multi-Player/Family Discounts on their tuition as follows:

  • Highest Fee Skater = Full Tuition

  • 2nd Highest Fee Skater = 20% discount

  • 3rd Skater = 50% discount

All multi-player/family discounts will be applied to the eligible participant’s full tuition amount.  In the event that tuition is not paid per the above schedule or other approved agreement, the player will no longer be entitled to any discounts.  Please also note the Multi-Player/Family Discount will NOT apply to players registered as a GOALTENDER.

 

Goaltender Discount

TRHC will offer a “Goaltender Discount” of 50% off the season’s tuition for all FULL TIME goaltenders from the 10U Squirt thru 16U/18U Midget levels (the TRHC Goaltender Discount does NOT apply to 8U Mites). The intent of this discount is to encourage goalies to work with outside goaltending coaches, to attend goaltender clinics of their choosing, and to offset costs of equipment.  Please note that NO OTHER DISCOUNTS are applicable when a goaltender takes the 50% GOALTENDER DISCOUNT.
 

Pay In Full Discount 

The Club will offer a 5% discount off tuition if tuition is paid in FULL at tryouts.
