The following jersey number conflict rules will be used by the TRHC.

When a new player joins the TRHC organization, or an existing player decides to change their number, he/she is asked to provide three number choices for jerseys. These number choices are checked against existing player’s numbers in the club for the player’s birth year, as well as one birth year above, and one birth year below. For example, if a 2008 birth year player joins the club, we will check that 2008 birth year as well as the 2007 and 2009 birth years for number conflicts. This is done to minimize the chance of having a number conflict with another player during the new player’s time as a Toms River Blackhawk. However, for a variety of different reasons, number conflicts do arise, and in that case the jersey numbering selection criteria will be based on the following:

1. Seniority based on player installation to the TRHC organization.

Example #1: Player #1 moves into first year Bantam-A team, Player #2 also moves into the same team as first year and they both already have #25 from being on different teams the previous year. Player #1 has been with TRHC since Mites (6yrs) and Player #2 joined the TRHC as a Squirt (4yrs). Player #1 takes Priority over Player #2 based on Seniority with the club and Player #2 will need to have their existing Jersey renumbered or purchase new.

Example #2: Player #1 moves into first year Bantam-A team, Player #2 is on the same team as a second year Bantam-A player who already has #25. Player #1 has been with TRHC since Mites (6yrs) and Player #2 joined the TRHC as a Peewee (3yrs). Player #1 takes Priority over Player #2 based on Seniority with the club and Player #2 will need to have their existing Jersey renumbered or purchase new.

2. Seniority based on Age Level bracket.

Example #1: Player #1 is a second year Bantam-A Player and Player #2 comes in as a 1st Year Bantam-A Player and they both have Number 25 as first choice. Player #1 has been with TRHC since last season as a 1st Year Bantam B (1yr) and Player #2 joined the TRHC last season as a 2nd Year Peewee A (1yr). Player #1 takes priority over Player #2 based on Age Level bracket as they have the same amount of Seniority with the club and Player #2 will need to have their existing Jersey renumbered or purchase new.

Example #2: Player #1 moves into first year Bantam-A team, Player #2 also moves into the same team as first year and they both already have #25 from being on different teams the previous year. Player #1 has been with TRHC since last season as a 2nd Year Peewee B (1yr) and Player #2 joined the TRHC last season as a 2nd Year Peewee A (1yr). This conflict will be resolved by the players actual birth date as they have the same amount of Seniority and are the same Age Level bracket. Player #1 was born 2/15/2008, and Player #2 was born 11/20/2008. Player #1 takes priority over Player #2 based on Age as they have the same amount of Seniority with the club and Player #2 will need to have their existing Jersey renumbered or purchase new.
