Peewee B players become NY Rangers Flag Kids
2016-12-20Toms River Blackhawks players get to be NY Ranger Flag Kids
Two of our Toms River Blackhawks Peewee B players recently received the opportunity of a lifetime. Michael Taliercio and Luc Pavlinec were chosen as 2016-2017 Junior Ranger Flag kids for the December 18th game vs NJ Devils at Madison Square Garden. They both tried out about two months ago at the Rangers practice facility in Tarrytown, NY and were chosen from among hundreds of USA Hockey Member applicants in the Tri-State area. Michael and Luc arrived at Madison Square Garden to a NY Rangers bag full of goodies and were each given a NY Rangers jersey to keep. The real fun started when the lights went down and the boys got to skate on the ice with the NY Rangers flags. They then got to stand on either side of the entrance of the NY Rangers during player introductions, fist pumping each player as they were announced. To top everything off, the boys and their fathers, Mike Taliercio and Ken Pavlinec (both assistant coaches for the Blackhawks), were given VIP tickets in one of MSG's suites right next to Mark Messier's suite, meeting "The Captain" who graciously signed pucks for the boys. It was truly a memorable, unforgettable experience. Congratulations boys!!!
